Beginning with his service as an ESE teacher in 1991, to his current position of Executive Director of Career & Technical Education, Mark Vianello has spent his entire career fueled by a passion for his mission - improving opportunities for all of Marion County Public Schools' students.

Mark's career in the education field has had him serving in numerous capacities, including teacher, Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Executive Director of Student Services. These experiences have afforded him the opportunity to observe first-hand the needs of the students and the community and put him in the unique position of having the ability to take action to meet those needs.

Building vital relationships with the business community began when tasked with the special assignment of developing a new technical high school in the fall of 2004.  This visionary secondary concept, now known as Marion Technical Institute (MTI), is where Mark served as principal until 2010.  Under his leadership, MTI was recognized as an exceptional high school opportunity, including being the first Florida CHOICE replication site and being recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor, as well as numerous other awards acknowledging the community partnerships important to MTI's success. In his current role as Executive Director of Career & Technical Education, Mark again has the opportunity to make innovative changes to vocational education at not just MTI, but all the district's high schools, with the creation of Career Choice Academies on every campus.

Mark Vianello continues to build bridges between education and employment while working to insure relevancy in every career classroom.  His influence on education in Marion County has changed the future for every student, affording them opportunities for success in their own backyard.
